About Dirty Yellow: |
Dirty Yellow is very translucent, has the same dirty tones as the other colours and mixes well with them all. Although yellow is not an obvious weathering colour, it is good for mixing with the other colours to create different shades and can be used on its own just like the other colours. Yellow has an often dramatic effect when mixed with the other colours and can change them completely. The best way to describe the colour is that it resembles a cigarette stain. Yellow stains more than any other colour, so be a little more careful using it. |
Landscapes: |
The yellow adds extra variety and shade to landscapes. Use it on ballast and foliage. |
Models: |
It can be used straight on to models on its own, but might be better if used in addition to other colours to enhance them. Perhaps for example, if Moss Green is applied to an engine shed, the yellow will lighten the shade and make it more yellow/green. |
