Modelmates primer matt acrylic spray paint
Matt acrylic paint with a fine spray nozzle.
For use on plastic, card, timber, moulded acrylic's, paper, and metal.
Flows well into fine indents and panel lines without filling them.
Contains high quantity pigment to give a great finish with less amount of spray used.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
-
Practise spraying before final use.
-
Always test on hidden surfaces or off-cuts to ensure compatibility and adhesion.
-
Apply several light coats rather than one heavy coat. The spray is very fine and dries fast, so it's better to spray 4 light coats rather than 1 heavy coat.
-
If the spray runs then it is being applied to heavily. Excessive application may also cause damage to surfaces such as plastic.
-
Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free from grease.
-
Mask areas not to be sprayed.
-
Use suitable protective sheets.
-
Shake the can hard (with the ball bearing rattling), for at least 5 seconds before use and often while spraying.
-
Before starting, spray off to one side for 3 seconds. This clears the plastic tube inside the can so that paint comes out rather than just clear propellant.
-
Fully depress the nozzle and spray with the can upright, 30cm from the surface moving your hand smoothly from side to side.
-
To prevent clogging, when through spraying invert can and spray for 3 seconds to clear nozzle.
-
Use only in well ventilated areas.
TIPS
-
Spraying succeeds or fails depending on the technique used.
-
If you are getting a broken, patchy effect, then try moving your hand faster or slower, sweeping right across the surface. Practise this over newspaper.
-
Start spraying to one side of a surface with the nozzle fully depressed, not over the top of it.
-
Move your hand across the surface in one smooth, continuous motion, keeping the nozzle fully depressed.
-
Release the nozzle only when your hand has fully past the other side of the surface.
-
If this is done, the paint that falls onto the surface would have come from a fully depressed nozzle, and the spray can would have been moving smoothly and continuously depositing an even amount.
-
The paint will behave differently in different conditions. In cold damp conditions it will dry slower allowing time for the matting agent to be swamped by the liquid, making the finish less matt. If this happens, then spray from further away, applying thinner coats. Best results are achieved when the surface and the can are at room temperature.
